Welcome to the Nurse Assistant Training Program (NATP).  The course is a 6-week blended online training program.  It uses Zoom as the media for conducting the lecture series followed by hands-on clinical training in a skilled nursing facility.

To begin, you will need to log into www.zoom.com and create an account.  Once your account is created you will return there daily to join the online lecture series that begins promptly at 5:00pm and ends at 9pm.  You will receive a Zoom invitation that contains the meeting ID and password to participate.

The NATP course is designed to provide the student with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform basic care services for a patient (acute care setting) or resident (long-term care setting). It prepares the student to function in the role of a Certified Nursing Assistant (BLS Code 31-1014.00) under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN). This course is designed to meet the curriculum requirements of the California Department of Public Health (CDPH). The basic nursing assistant proficiency examination is the State-approved competency evaluation, with both written and manual skills components. The course requires the student to complete 60 clock hours of theory lecture, perform 100 clock hours in a clinical setting, and successfully demonstrate 21 manual patient/resident care skills. Satisfactory completion of the course provides eligibility to take the CDPH established competency written examination for State certification as a certified nursing assistant.

El curso está diseñado para proporcionar al estudiante los conocimientos y habilidades necesarios para realizar servicios de atención básica para un paciente (entorno de cuidados intensivos) o residente (entorno de atención a largo plazo).  Ayuda a preparar a la para funcionar en el papel de Asistente de Enfermería bajo la supervisión de una enfermera registrada (RN) o enfermera vocacional licenciada (LVN).  Esta guía de tutoría a su propio ritmo está diseñada para ayudarlo en sus estudios en preparación para tomar el examen básico de competencia de asistente de enfermería. El examen básico de competencia de auxiliar de enfermería es la evaluación de competencias aprobada por el Estado, con componentes de habilidades escritas y manuales.   El curso requiere que el estudiante complete 60 horas de conferencia, realice 100 horas en un entorno clínico y demuestre con éxito 21 habilidades manuales de atención al paciente / residente. La finalización satisfactoria del curso proporciona elegibilidad para tomar el examen escrito de competencia establecida por cdph para la certificación estatal como asistente de enfermería certificado (CNA).
